We will explore a variety of songs through movement, singing, and instrument playing. Students will learn about a variety of different instruments, specifically we will first focus on drums and hand percussion.
Students will do a line project using a variety of vocal explorations and materials to help them physically manipulate sound. This will be an introduction to musical phrases, sound waves, and sound vs. no sound.
Musical opposites and steady beat are a foundation of early music education. We will focus work throughout the year on the concept, but will have some lessons on this concept during these weeks.
Students will begin Music Exploration this week. Once a week they will be given the opportunity to explore sound and create their own music. This will be based on their own choice, but center around our main concepts.
